1:1 SEN TA | Newham | ASAP
We are looking for a dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a Primary School in Newham as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant for a Year 2 pupil with ASD.
This position is perfect for a confident graduate who has completed their degree and are eager to gain hands-on experience in the SEN/SEMH field. Aspiring Teachers, Counsellors, Wellbeing Practitioners, and Psychologists will find this role an invaluable stepping stone.

About the Role:
- Mainstream Primary School in Newham
- Immediate start (January 2025) – July 2025 (initial contract with potential for extension)
- £90-105 per day (including holiday pay), paid weekly on a PAYE basis
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to a Year 2 pupil with ASD
- Help the pupil stay focused, safe, and engaged in all school activities
- Assist in managing and de-escalating challenging situations
Requirements
- A 2:1 or higher Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or a related field from a Russell Group University
- Strong A-levels and GCSE’s
- Experience in a similar SEN role
- Other experience working with children, tutoring, teaching or coaching
- A resilient, hard working and caring individual passionate about supporting Special Educational Needs
