Autism Support Assistant – Barnet – November 2024
Location: Barnet, North London
Age Group: 11-16 Years
We are seeking a dedicated Autism Support Assistant to work with students aged 11-16 in Barnet secondary schools. In this role, you’ll provide essential one-on-one and group support to students with autism, helping them navigate school life and reach their potential in a supportive environment.
As an Autism Support Assistant, you will collaborate closely with school staff, SEN specialists, and parents to tailor strategies that support each student’s unique needs. You’ll assist in creating a structured, inclusive environment, helping students with social skills, classroom participation, and emotional resilience.
Key qualities we seek in an Autism Support Assistant include empathy, patience, and excellent communication skills. Previous experience in SEN support or working with children with autism is highly valued. Training or qualifications in SEN or youth support are advantageous but not required.
