Biology Academic Mentor | Kingston upon Thames | January 2025

Are you passionate about supporting students and helping them achieve their full potential in Biology? Do you have a strong academic background in Biology and a desire to work closely with students to boost their understanding and confidence?

If you’re eager to support students at a Secondary School in Kingston upon Thames and want to make a real difference to their academic journey, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

This is an excellent role for a recent graduate with a strong background in Biology or an individual with tutoring experience, looking to support students in their studies and enhance their understanding of the subject.

Biology Academic Mentor | The Role:
  • Contract: January 2025 - July 2025 (Full-Time, Term-Time Only)
  • Position: Biology Academic Mentor
  • Location: Secondary School in Kingston upon Thames
  • Salary: £20,000 - £25,000 per year (pro rata)
  • Role Type: Full-Time (Term-Time Only)
 
Biology Academic Mentor | Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one and small group tutoring to students across Key Stage 3 & 4
  • Support students in building their Biology knowledge and boosting their confidence
  • Assist classroom teachers with differentiated learning activities
  • Help students prepare for GCSE exams and assessments
  • Motivate and inspire students to achieve their best results
 
Biology Academic Mentor | Personal Specification:
  • A strong academic background in Biology (A-Level, degree, or equivalent)
  • Previous tutoring experience is desirable, but not essential
  • Excellent communication skills with a passion for working with young people
  • Enthusiastic, reliable, and proactive
  • Able to motivate and engage students of varying abilities
  • Prior experience in a school or educational setting is a bonus
