Deputy SENDCo – West London – September 2025 Start

A high-achieving Sixth Form College in West London is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Deputy SENDCo to join their supportive Learning Support Department from September 2025. Deputy SENDCo – Role Summary:

  • Support the strategic development of SEND provision, ensuring compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and Equality Act

  • Assist the Head of Learning Support with the daily management of the department, including staff and resource deployment

  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including families, local authorities and external agencies, to ensure smooth transitions and appropriate provision for SEND students

  • Oversee the identification of SEND needs and ensure accurate communication of student requirements via the college MIS system (Cedar)

  • Monitor student progress data and coordinate effective interventions to support improved outcomes

  • Support the quality assurance process, contributing to the department’s Self-Assessment Report and Quality Improvement Plan

  • Co-lead on the coordination and quality of EHCP Annual Reviews

  • Deliver teaching across 50% of a standard timetable in your subject specialism

  • Line manage Learning Support Assistants and support staff training on effective inclusive practice

  • Assist in the coordination of exam access arrangements

  • Represent the Head of Learning Support at key meetings and events
