Graduate Teaching Assistant - September 2024 – Merton
Are you an inspirational final-year University Student who is on track to achieve a 2:1 or First-Class degree?

- Graduate Teaching Assistant – Merton Primary School
- Available to 2:1 or First-Class Degree holder with strong GCSE and A-Level record
- Placements from September 2024-July 2025 with opportunity for extensions/permanent contracts being offered
- Work with like-minded people in a friendly, supportive and collaborative Primary School
- Support KS1 and KS2 pupils who require extra help at school
- Work with SENCO to support children with SEND
- Work within ‘Good’ & ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted Schools – Graduate Teaching Assistant
- Attend training / CPD to learn how to handle resistant behaviour and how to keep children engaged and on-track
Graduate Teaching Assistant – Merton
You will be spending your time supporting a variety of children who require extra help at school. Working across a variety of year groups, you will find ways to unlock and nurture their learning potential. Prior knowledge of SEND would be advantageous although not a prerequisite.
Your role as a Graduate Teaching Assistant will involve supporting teachers in class and you will also be given the opportunity to teach smaller groups independently and work 1:1 with students.
To succeed, you will need to have a love for learning and a never-give-up attitude. In moments where you encounter challenging behaviour, you will follow the school’s behaviour policies and implement strategies to help your pupils to remain calm.
Pending a successful year as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, the school can offer paid routes into Teacher Training from September 2025.
