We are seeking a dynamic Head of Music to lead our highly regarded Music Department. The school has a strong musical presence, including a Chamber Choir with a high reputation in the local community.

Head of Music- Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire a team of music teachers, ensuring excellent teaching and learning.
- Direct the Chamber Choir and oversee other musical ensembles.
- Organize and manage school concerts, performances, and music events.
- Develop a broad and inclusive music curriculum for all year groups.
- Maintain the department’s resources and budget.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Collaborate with parents and the community to enhance the school’s musical profile.
Head of Music- Person Specification:
- Essential:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Proven experience in teaching music in a Secondary school.
- Leadership experience, ideally in a Head of Department role.
- Strong background in choral and ensemble music.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for music and a clear vision for advancing the department.
- Desirable:
- Experience organising and leading large-scale music events.
- Knowledge of contemporary music teaching methods and technology.
