Head of Physical Education – Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the planning, development, and delivery of a well-sequenced and inclusive PE curriculum for KS3, KS4, and KS5.
  • Drive exceptional progress and outcomes for all student groups within the department, ensuring achievement is closely monitored and areas for development are addressed.
  • Mentor and support teachers in the PE team, promoting high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Oversee enrichment opportunities, including sports clubs, fixtures, and events, to inspire students and nurture talent.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that promotes teamwork, resilience, and excellent attitudes to learning.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to align departmental goals with whole-school priorities.
 
Head of Physical Education – Essential Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with extensive experience teaching PE across key stages.
  • Proven track record of raising attainment and developing a successful PE curriculum.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate colleagues.
  • Commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion within the curriculum and wider school community.
  • A passion for physical education and the ability to instil a lifelong love of sport and fitness in students.
