SEMH Teaching Assistant – Islington
We’re looking for a compassionate and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team in Islington, supporting teenagers with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact by helping students overcome challenges and transition back into a mainstream learning environment.
SEMH Teaching Assistant | Specifics:
Location: Islington, North London
Start date: October/November 2024
Hours: Full-time 08.30-16.00 approx. Monday-Friday, Term Time only
Pay: £96-105 per day PAYE
SEMH Teaching Assistant | The Role:
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you’ll be working closely with students who require additional support due to emotional or behavioural difficulties. Your primary responsibility will be to help manage behaviour in the classroom, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment. You will also provide one-to-one or small group support to help students re-engage with their education, developing strategies to boost their confidence and self-esteem.
As the new SEMH Teaching Assistant you'll collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to create personalised learning plans and offer practical and emotional support that meets each student's unique needs.
