SEN Teaching Assistant – Newham – Start ASAP

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) within the classroom setting
  • Assist in the delivery of differentiated lessons and learning activities
  • Work closely with the SENCO to create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive environment for all students
  • Support students with personal care and mobility needs, when necessary
  • Monitor student progress and contribute to reviews of progress
  • Build strong relationships with students, teachers, and parents to ensure effective communication
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working with children, especially those with special educational needs (SEN)
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to working with students
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Relevant qualifications (Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant, or similar, desirable)
  • Knowledge of a range of SEN and strategies to support students' learning
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
