SEND Teaching Assistant – Croydon

Key Responsibilities of the SEND Teaching Assistant role:
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with ADHD, ASC, Dyslexia, Visual Impairment, Anxiety and other additional needs.
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons tailored to the diverse needs of students.
  • Promote an inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.
  • Help students develop confidence, independence and essential skills to thrive in Croydon and beyond.
  • Collaborate with staff to support students’ behavioural, emotional, and academic development.
  • Adapt strategies to meet the unique needs of individual students, ensuring they achieve their full potential.
Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant attributes:
  • A degree (2:1 or above), demonstrating a strong academic foundation.
  • A passion for education and a desire to support students with diverse needs.
  • Patience, empathy, and adaptability when working with students requiring extra support.
  • Previous experience working with children with additional needs is beneficial but not essential.
