Your responsibilities as an SEND Teaching Assistant:
- Provide 1:1 emotional and academic support to a Year 10 student with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour.
- Assist in lessons, ensuring the student remains engaged and motivated.
- Implement behaviour management strategies to encourage positive development.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SEN team to create a supportive learning environment.
- Act as a role model, promoting resilience and aspiration in education.
- Minimum 2:1 Psychology Degree from a Top UK University.
- Previous experience working with secondary students with SEMH needs.
- Excellent patience, empathy, and communication skills.
- Passion for supporting young people with social, emotional, and behavioural challenges.
- A strong desire to progress within education and SEN support.
- Experience supporting secondary students with behavioural/SEMH needs.
- Experience working in a PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) or Alternative Provision (desirable)
- Location: Buckhurst Hill, Waltham Forest, London
- Pay: £96-£100 daily via PAYE (including holiday pay)
- Contract Type: Full Time, Long Term until July 2025
- Start Date: ASAP
