Sports Graduate – Teaching Assistant – Waltham Forest – Immediate Start

 

Are you a Sports Graduate with a passion for helping children develop both academically and socially? Step into a fulfilling role as a Teaching Assistant in Waltham Forest, where you’ll work primarily with boys aged 5-11 who display challenging behaviour. Your background in sports and coaching will be key in providing positive, structured support and helping to manage behaviour in and out of the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students aged 5-11 displaying challenging behaviour, helping them engage positively with school life.
  • Use your sports and coaching background to provide structure and motivation, encouraging teamwork and discipline.
  • Assist teachers in managing classroom behaviour, ensuring a focused and productive learning environment.
  • Work closely with the pastoral and learning support teams to develop tailored behaviour strategies for individual students.
  • Act as a positive role model, offering guidance and building trust with students in need of additional support.

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • A Sports Graduate with experience in coaching or working with children, particularly those who display challenging behaviour.
  • A bachelor’s degree from a top 50 UK University
  • Confidence in managing behaviour and motivating young boys, with a genuine passion for being a role model.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, able to collaborate effectively with staff and independently support students.
  • Experience in a school setting or with child-centred activities is essential.
  • An Enhanced Child DBS is required to interview for this role.

 

Location: Waltham Forest – A school environment with a strong emphasis on student welfare and support.

 

Start Date: Immediate start, with the position running until July 2025.
