1:1 SEND Support Assistant | About the School:
A supportive primary school in Hillingdon is looking for a passionate 1:1 SEND Support Assistant to work with a lively Key Stage 1 child who requires help with emotional regulation and staying engaged in class. This school offers a warm, inclusive environment and a collaborative team, ensuring every child thrives.

 

1:1 SEND Support Assistant | Role Overview:
You will work closely with a child with SEND, providing tailored support to help them regulate emotions, stay in class, and remain engaged with learning. Your role will include implementing strategies to manage behaviour and promote positive interactions with peers, while maintaining a consistent, structured environment.

 

1:1 SEND Support Assistant | Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 support for emotional regulation and engagement in class.
• Help the child manage emotions through de-escalation techniques and support.
• Work with teachers and the SEND team to develop and implement individualized plans.
• Encourage positive behaviour and social interactions.
• Observe, record, and provide feedback on the child’s progress.

 

1:1 SEND Support Assistant | Key Skills & Attributes:

• Strong personality and confidence in behaviour management.
• Experience with children, particularly those with SEND, is preferred.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to be proactive, patient, and positive.
• Knowledge of emotional regulation strategies is a plus.
