Academic Mentor – Upminster – Start Date: ASAP We are seeking an enthusiastic Academic Mentor to join a supportive and dedicated team at a large, inclusive Secondary School in Upminster. About the Role: As an Academic Mentor, you will play a vital role in encouraging student progress and attainment. You’ll work closely with the SEN team and be confident in leading and planning lessons for small groups. Your primary focus will be:

  • Working on a 1:1 basis and in small groups to provide targeted support
  • Managing and improving student behaviour where necessary
  • Leading small group sessions to enhance learning and attainment
  • Providing support to students during lessons and throughout the school day
Requirements: We are looking for an Academic Mentor who:

  • Holds a 1:1 degree from a leading UK university
  • Has achieved A*/A grades at A Level with impressive GCSE results
  • Has previous child-based experience (preferred)
  • Is enthusiastic, proactive, and confident in working with students with SEN
  • Can effectively manage behaviour and inspire high expectations
