Computer Science Teacher – Independent School - Kingston-Upon-Thames

 

We are seeking an enthusiastic Computer Science Teacher with a passion for the subject and the technical skill to deliver an innovative and engaging Computing curriculum to students who aspire to study at top Universities upon leaving school.

 

The successful Computer Science Teacher will join one of London’s leading Independent Schools and therefore will need to demonstrate impeccable subject knowledge and have experience of delivering Computer Science to at least to GCSE level, but ideally to A-level as well.

Computer Science Teacher | Job Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic Computer Science Teacher who can create a purposeful learning environment where pupils feel secure and confident. Within their time studying Computing, students develop their cross-curricular STEAM skills by getting hands-on with physical computing, using technologies like Raspberry Pi, LEGO and Micro:bit.

 

Computer Science Teacher | Responsibilities:

  • Set challenging teaching and learning objectives
  • Demonstrate how pupils’ learning will be assessed and differentiated
  • Select and prepare resources and plan for their safe and effective organisation
  • Work with department to develop Schemes of Work, teaching methodologies and resources.
  • Use out of school visits, field work trips, co-curricular activities and invited speakers/groups to enhance pupils’ learning.

 

Computer Science Teacher | Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field; QTS or equivalent.
  • Proven secondary-level Computer Science teaching experience.
  • Evidence of improving outcomes across KS3, KS4 and KS5
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
