Location: Sutton
Salary: MPS/UPS (Outer London) + TLR1
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: September 2025

Head of Science | The Role:
  • Lead and manage the Science Department, driving innovation and excellence in teaching and learning.
  • Deliver inspiring and rigorous Science lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Develop and enhance the Science curriculum, ensuring it remains engaging and academically rigorous.
  • Support and mentor Science teachers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Analyse student data to track progress and implement effective intervention strategies where necessary.
  • Contribute to whole-school initiatives and STEM outreach programs.
Head of Science | The Successful Candidate Will Have:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and extensive experience teaching and leading Science at secondary level.
  • A 2:1 or higher degree in Science or a closely related subject.
  • Proven leadership skills or the ambition and potential to step into a leadership role.
  • A passion for Physics education and a track record of delivering exceptional student outcomes.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and challenge students.
  • A commitment to innovation in teaching and a willingness to contribute to extra-curricular STEM activities.
