HLTA responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils, both inside and outside the classroom.
• Deliver whole-class cover when required, ensuring a smooth continuation of learning.
• Lead targeted interventions to help children improve their attainment and development.
• Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to support SEND pupils effectively.
• Assist in behaviour management and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Communicate effectively with families, school staff, and third parties to ensure consistent support.

Essential requirements for the HLTA role:

• A 1:1 or 2:1 degree from a leading UK university.
• Previous experience supporting children, particularly those with SEN, is preferred.
• Confidence and creativity in working with SEND pupils and managing behaviour effectively.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work proactively as part of a team.
• Experience covering PPA sessions and leading groups is desirable.
