Are you an experienced and dedicated teacher looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with severe and profound learning difficulties?

A specialist primary school in West London is seeking a committed and capable KS2 Teacher to join their team in September 2025. This full-time role is based in a small intervention class, offering an excellent opportunity to work closely with pupils with a range of complex needs, including autism and sensory challenges.

KS2 Teacher – Key Benefits:
  • Competitive salary (MPS/UPS).
  • Permanent, full-time role starting September 2025.
  • Work in a supportive, well-resourced environment with a high staff-to-pupil ratio.
  • Opportunity to develop expertise in SEN teaching through practical experience and collaboration.

KS2 Teacher – Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver creative, engaging and age-appropriate lessons tailored to pupils working between ranges 3–6 of the EYFS.
  • Lead a small class of four pupils, each with 1:1 or 2:1 support due to challenging behaviour or complex needs.
  • Manage and guide a team of four staff to provide consistent support for pupils.
  • Promote independence and life skills through personalised teaching approaches.
  • Complete planning, reporting and assessments to track progress and identify next steps for each pupil.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, focusing on their individual needs and strengths.
  • Respond calmly and effectively to challenging behaviour, using de-escalation strategies where required.

KS2 Teacher – Essential Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in a special school setting, particularly with pupils with SLD, autism or complex needs.
  • Proactive, calm and team-oriented, with strong communication skills.
  • Familiarity with PECS, core boards or similar communication systems is desirable.
  • Ideally trained in Team Teach or a similar positive behaviour support approach.
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons that focus on independence, sensory needs and age-appropriate learning.

This KS2 Teacher position offers a rare opportunity to work in a small, supportive class, helping pupils with complex needs achieve their full potential. If you are calm, creative and committed to providing the best possible learning experience, this role could be ideal for you.
