A progressive, oversubscribed school in Hornchurch is looking to recruit a Lead Practitioner for Science to join their high-achieving Science department to start in September 2024.

Lead Practitioner for Science | The Role:

• Delivering outstanding teaching and learning within Science lessons and intervention sessions.
• Providing a coaching and mentoring role for staff and students in interview programmes within the Science department.
• Providing evaluative feedback on the impact of learning strategies on student progress to senior and middle leaders.
• Providing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to teachers within the Science department.
• Lead Practitioner Scale 1-10 (Outer London), depending on experience.

Lead Practitioner for Science | Job Requirements:

• Hold a QTS, an undergraduate degree in Science and be able to show evidence of ongoing CPD.
• Be able to demonstrate outstanding teaching practice and excellent behaviour management.
• Willingness to use a range of teaching and learning techniques which engage and support learners.
• Providing an effective environment through classroom management.

The successful candidate will work alongside the Faculty Lead to develop and implement high quality classroom practice and professional development as a Lead Practitioner for Science.
