Linguistics Graduate Teaching Assistant – Primary School in Esher
Location: Esher, Surrey
Salary: £480 - £550 per week (Term-time only)
Contract: Full-time, Academic Year
 
Are you a linguistics graduate with a passion for language and education? This welcoming primary school in Esher is looking for a Linguistics Graduate Teaching Assistant to support students in their language development and literacy skills across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
 
Linguistics Graduate Teaching Assistant | About the Role:
As a Linguistics Graduate Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with teachers to provide targeted support to students, helping them strengthen their language and communication skills.
  • Supporting students with phonics, reading, writing, and comprehension through 1:1 and small group sessions
  • Assisting in the development of speech and language skills, fostering a love for language
  • Helping students with spelling, grammar, and vocabulary building
  • Working alongside the class teacher to deliver lessons and provide tailored interventions for students who need extra help
  • Monitoring and reporting on student progress, ensuring that learning needs are met
 
Linguistics Graduate Teaching Assistant | Ideal Candidate:
  • Holds a 2:1 or First-Class degree in Linguistics or a related field from a top UK university
  • Strong understanding of language development and a passion for supporting young learners
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with children
  • Patient, empathetic, and dedicated to fostering students' academic growth
  • Experience in a primary school or educational setting is beneficial but not required
