Mental Health Support Assistant – Barking & Dagenham – ASAP Start Are you an enthusiastic and proactive graduate eager to make a difference in students' lives? We are looking for a Mental Health Support Assistant with:

  • A 1:1 or 2:1 degree from a leading UK university.
  • Previous experience working with children, preferably those with SEN needs.
  • Confidence in managing behaviour and supporting students’ emotional wellbeing.
  • A proactive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ambition to improve their own skills through hands-on experience.
Role Overview for the Mental Health Support Assistant:

  • Encourage student progress and attainment.
  • Provide support on a 1:1 and small group basis, focusing on academic and emotional support.
  • Confidently lead small-group lessons to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Work closely with the SEN team to tailor approaches to individual student needs.
  • Support students throughout the school day to maintain focus and engagement.
