Primary HLTA – Croydon

We are seeking a dynamic HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) who can confidently cover classes from Nursery to Year 6, providing effective support across the full primary age range.

Primary HLTA  - Key Responsibilities:
  • Confidently cover classes across the school, working with students from Nursery to Year 6, and ensuring continuity in learning during teacher absences.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons to support the needs of all pupils, adapting your approach to suit different age groups and abilities.
  • Work closely with class teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers and adjusting support strategies as needed.
  • Ensure that the school’s high standards of behaviour and learning are maintained in every class you cover.
Primary HLTA - Essential Qualities:
  • Prior experience as an HLTA or in a similar classroom support role.
  • Ability to adapt to teaching across the 3-11 age range and work confidently in Nursery to Year 6 classes.
  • Strong classroom management skills, with the ability to engage students of different ages and abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude, with a commitment to supporting the learning and development of all pupils.
