Are you an enthusiastic Graduate and interested in being a Primary Teaching Assistant, who is looking to add to their child-centred experience before applying for a PGCE?

Providing you have obtained a minimum of a 2:1 degree and are fully committed to spending this academic year working as a Primary Teaching Assistant in a Primary School, our exciting, progressive and rewarding Primary Teaching Assistant role will be exactly what you are looking for!

Here at Ribbons & Reeves, we have an exciting opportunity to be a Primary Teaching Assistant on a year-long contract that can launch you towards life as a Primary Teacher! This fantastic Primary School is looking for a Primary Teaching Assistant to help students with their phonics and core subjects across the school.

Primary Teaching Assistant | About the role:

  • Initial 1-year Primary Teaching Assistant contracts starting September 2024
  • A Primary Teaching Assistant can earn between £480.80- £510 per week | Paid weekly on a PAYE basis

  • Supporting pupils with their learning on a whole-class, 1:1 and small-group basis within the classroom
  • Use strategies effectively and be able to work using your initiative while following policies and procedures
  • A Primary Teaching Assistant will take direction from the Teacher based on the needs of the class
Primary Teaching Assistant | About the school:

  • The successful Primary Teaching Assistant will secure a role at one of our wonderful Primary Schools in Barnet
  • You will work under the guidance of a supportive SENCO and Senior Leadership Team to provide an inclusive education to all pupils.
  • You will be required to provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils who require extra help in the classroom.
  • Patience, understanding, empathy and the ability to build a positive rapport with Primary-aged pupils are essential in this role.
  • The school have been rated as 'Good', but are on their journey to 'Outstanding'
  • This is the ideal role for a Primary Teaching Assistant hopeful who plans to become a Primary Teacher, and the school will provide ongoing support and training to help you confidently apply for PGCE programmes in the future.
