- As an SEN Support Worker in Newham/Redbridge, you will work closely with students who have Special Educational Needs, particularly those who have behavioural challenges or emotional difficulties.
- You will support these students on a one-to-one or small group basis, helping them to stay engaged with their learning and overcome barriers to education.
- If you have a background in sports, you will use physical activities to engage students, build teamwork, and develop self-confidence.
- Collaborate with the SENCO and teaching staff to tailor support to meet individual needs, both academically and socially.
- Help students develop key life skills, such as communication, emotional regulation, and problem-solving.
- Monitor and track the progress of students, providing valuable feedback to teachers, parents, and SENCOs.
- Be an advocate for students with SEN, ensuring they are fully supported in all aspects of school life.
- Experience working with troubled children or students with SEN, ideally in a school or similar setting.
- A background in sports (preferably) to use as a tool for engagement and behaviour management.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
- A proactive and solution-focused attitude to supporting students with SEN.
- Passion for making a positive difference in the lives of students with Special Educational Needs.
