Speech & Language Support Assistant | Leyton, Waltham Forest

Speech & Language Support Assistants are required to support pupils with severe learning and language communication difficulties in a Primary School found in Leyton.

You work closely with SEN Team within a Primary School, ensuring that all pupils are able to have access to teaching, through your support and teamwork with other staff and external support frameworks.

  • Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ or ‘Good’ graded schools across Leyton
  • Speech & Language Support Assistant – Possess a strong grasp of language rhythms and speech patterns
  • Full-time Speech & Language Support Assistant
  • £500 paid weekly via PAYE.
  • Full-time position, Monday – Friday, 8.30am – 4pm
  • Speech & Language Support Assistant, supporting Primary aged pupils.


You should be a Graduate who has gained experience in education or healthcare settings working with children or vulnerable adults. If you’re graduating from a top UK university this year, then a relevant degree, such as Language, Linguistics and modern languages would be desirable.

The schools we work with are looking for a Speech & Language Teaching Assistant with the knowledge and experience to produce interactive sessions to assist students with understanding spoken language, speech sound pronunciation, attention and listening and improving social skills.

If you intend on becoming a qualified Speech & Language Therapist, it is essential that you gain experience in this field. Working with primary pupils of varying ages as a Speech & Language Teaching Assistant will contribute to the portfolio you need, to make successful applications onto an MSc in Speech & Language Therapy and/or further professional qualifications.

These roles are full-time Speech & Language Support Assistant positions available for the duration of the coming academic year. We ensure you work in a school within a commutable distance from home and that you’re in an ‘Outstanding’ or ‘Good’ Ofsted graded school. In these Speech & Language Support Assistant roles, you will work closely with experienced Special Needs Co-ordinators, who will work closely with you to ensure your support is tailored and appropriate to the pupil/s you will be working with.
